Editorial Policy

The International Journal of Special Education publishes original articles concerning special education. Experimental as well as theoretical articles are sought. Potential contributors are encouraged to submit reviews of research, historical, and philosophical studies, case studies and content analyses in addition to experimental correlation studies, surveys and reports of the effectiveness of innovative programs.
Manuscripts should be typewritten and double spaced (including references). Submit one original typed manuscript and two additional copies. A stamped self-addressed envelope should accompany any manuscripts submitted to Editorial Board members within the author's own country only. A computer diskette MUST accompany EVERY manuscript, and must contain the article and any tables in MS-WORD for IBM Format. Please include a clear return address for the return of any material. The original manuscript will be returned to the author if not accepted for publication. The other copies remain the property of the Journal. ALL TABLES MUST BE CAMERA-READY.
The review of the manuscript will be blind and impartial. Authors therefore are requested to include with each copy of the manuscript a cover sheet which contains the title, author's name institutional affiliation and the date the manuscript is submitted. The manuscript itself should contain its title but NOT the author's name. The author should make every effort to avoid the inclusion of clues to his or her identity in the manuscript.
Manuscripts are reviewed by the Editorial Board. Accepted manuscripts may be revised for clarity, organisation and length.

Style: The content, organisation and style of manuscripts should follow the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association(Third Edition, 1983). A manuscript written in an obviously deviating style will be returned to the author for revision.
Abstracts: All articles will be preceded by an abstract of 100-200 words. Contributors are referred to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association for assistance in preparing the abstract.
Responsibility of Authors: Authors are solely responsible for the factual accuracy of their contributions. The author is responsible for obtaining permission to quote lengthy excerpts from previously published material. All figures submitted must be submitted camera ready.

Annotated and Indexed by the ERIC Clearinghouse on Handicapped and Gifted Children for publication in the monthly print index Current Index to Journals of Special Education (CIJE) and the quarterly index, Exceptional Child Education Resources (ECER). IJSE is also indexed at Education Index (EDI).

Manuscripts should be sent to the member of the Editorial Board of the respective country for initial review.
